Eat From Farms Is Still Growing...

Amazingly, it's been two years since I created a blog entry. This was called to my attention by a prospective farmer who sent an email simply saying "Are you still there?"

When I contacted her with an emphatic YES!, I found out that she saw nothing new on the blog and thought EFF may have withered on the vine. Far from it.

In fact, we have had very steady growth since the start of Covid, as more and more farmers have realized the importance of having their own website, their own online store, and their own customers.

EFF fits perfectly into that picture. We have a great platform for farms selling directly to consumers.

What makes EFF a great fit, you ask? Well, let me tell you.

First of all, it's easy to use. I don't want to say it's the easiest software you have ever used. Next, our shopping cart system is one of the few where you can simply and easily sell variable weight products. If you have 9 Ribeye Steaks and someone places an order for 2, you can enter into the order at fulfillment time the exact weights of the steaks you are providing. Our automation will immediately update the math. Click the button to collect your money and a detailed PDF receipt is put in the customer's account. ((Of course the same functionality exists if you choose to offer cash, check or credit card in person payments.))

Speaking of inventory, when those two steaks were ordered, the quantity available for other customers to order immediately dropped to 7. But if you had to cancel that order because of some issue, the quantity would bounce right back to 9.

Need to update your inventory quantities after returning from your butcher or after surveying your ready-to-harvest crops? Simple. We display all your products and shopping cart packages in a vertical list on the screen, each with editable quantities and On/Off buttons. You can update all your inventory on that one screen and save the entire update with one click. We've got your inventory covered - as many products as you want.

You can set up Farm or Store pickup for 24/7 ordering. But you can also have Delivery Locations with schedules where you control the ordering windows, right down to 5 minutes. That makes customer pre-ordering a snap. And of course, we provide pick lists, assembly lists and customer payment details in a convenient manner to make group deliveries efficient. We also provide home delivery mapping if you offer delivery.

So you want to collaborate with some of your nearby vendors to offer one-stop shopping? You can set up a vendor account within your EFF account for each of them. The best part is that your vendors set up and manage their own inventory. Each will immediately receive an email when orders come in that include their products. And they get their own pick lists as well. We have actual Farmers Markets using our platform, but you can create your own if you wish.
