Most website building/shopping cart software is challenging to use in selling farm products directly to local families. In designing our EFF platform, our focus was on identifying the key features that most small farms needed, and then building them into a package that was relatively easy to navigate. We wanted to create an offering that farmers could manage on their own, without the need for a tech person.
Along with that, we wanted to offer a platform that any farm could afford. To make that happen, we put a lot of sweat equity into creating it. It took two years of unpaid effort before we finally had it ready to offer to the farming public in 2013. We've had steady growth, but had a big jump in usage when Covid 19 hit, as farmers and consumers became desperate to find each other.
We continue to update our platform and grow, with EFF farms in most US states and across Canada. Most of our growth is by word of mouth, from farmer to farmer. We remain dedicated to our mission of making e-commerce for farmers an affordable and positive experience.
